Oppo Neo smartphone launched to take on Moto G

Oppo Neo

Oppo is teasing its mid-range smartphone called the Neo for Rs 11,990 in India. The Chinese company recently announced its entry in India with the launch of the N1 smartphone for a whopping Rs 39,999. With the Neo, Oppo is now tapping the mid-range mobile segment in India, which currently is dominated by the likes of Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and others.
.
Late January it released it's flagship phone n1 with swivel camera and cyanogen mode like features in India which was hectically priced at rs 39999 which seemed too much for the features it is offering. The launch of Neo is seen as it's move to take on the current sensation in the market Moto G.

Unlike the Oppo N1, the Neo smartphone comes with a smaller display and has a rather mediocre set of specifications. It has a 4.5-inch FWGA (854×480 pixels) IPS display,32 gb expandable memory and 1.3 ghz quad core chipset powered by Mediatek, which the company claims comes with an improved touch-screen technology and is compatible with Gloves mode feature as well. This lets a user operate the phone’s touchscreen even while with gloves on.

The company has put special focus on the gesture controls in the smartphone and says that the phone offers a gesture panel and supports various gesture-based controls including double tapping to wake the screen up. One can simply draw figures on this gesture panel to directly go to an app assigned for the respective figure. So for instance, drawing a circle on this panel will navigate directly to camera

At this price point we would definitely recommend moto g because it has lots to offer in its bag and it justifies its price (if you still don't know that what is Moto G all about click here). If neo had launched for about 8k it would had made some impact in the market
