Micromax Takes on the wonder 'Moto E'

After the huge success of Moto G in India with its sales crossing 5 lakhs,Motorola yet again launched a smartphone 'Moto E' with some incredible specs and Android Kitkat in the offering.As a result of the heat produced by the Moto E India's no 2 smartphone maker Micromax has a launched a spree of smartphones with Kitkat preloaded.
Call it the effect of competition or the burnt of dripping sales our home grown Micromax has been back on the track with its latest offering running on Kitkat 4.4.2 and giving some super specs on the board.

Moto X paving its way in the Indian Market with incredible launch day offers.

Continuing to tease the approaching launch of the Moto X in India, Flipkart today announced it will offer a discount of 70 percent on Moto X cases to those who buy the smartphone on launch day. Earlier, the online retailer had announced a 6-month EMI scheme with Rs 1,000 cashback.Flipkart has not announced the launch date but reports suggests it would hit the shelves on March 19.Unlike US, Motorola would not introduce Moto Maker for its flagship in India.

How to root Nokia X in easy steps

Nokia recently launched its android series of lineup named the X series which made a lot of buzz in the market.But unfortunately Nokia missed out the Play Store, Google Now and other Google services running on the device instead it relied on Microsoft services and it's own app store.But after spending around 8k on Nokia X one would really want to root and install all the Google services on it.

Micromax launches the true octacore phone 'Canvas Knight'

Micromax has announced its first octa core processor based smartphone, which is named as Micromax Canvas Knight in the Indian market.
The highlight of the Micromax Canvas Knight is its octa-core MediaTek (MT6592T) processor clocked at 2GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM.
The Canvas Knight offers dual-SIM (both Micro-SIMs) support and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box. It comes with a 5-inch (1080x1920 pixels) full-HD IPS display with a stunning pixel density of 443ppi.

Facebook acquires Whatsapp for 16 Billion$

It seems that year 2014 has something to offer in its hood as in yet another shocker,Facebook announced that it was acquiring WhatsApp, a world leader in mobile messaging over the internet with 35 million users in India, for $19 billion in stock and cash.

You might be wondering that why we are posting about Moto G so often, it is due to it's affordability and form factor that i personally cant resist writing about it. Motorola launched Moto G in India earlier this week, in partnership with Flipkart starting at Rs. 12,499. Due to huge demand, the 16gigs variant sold out in less than hour. Unlike the other markets like the US and UK, the dual SIM variant of the Moto G (XT-1033) in India ships with a wired head set and a charger (5 volts, 500mA), along with the phone and manuals, as you can see on the box below.

Late January Motorola mobility was sold to lenovo but even after it's acquisition it has released update for  Moto G .Motorola has started rolling out the latest Android 4.4 KitKat update to the dual-SIM version of its Moto G smartphone. Size of the update is about 230 and is available over the air. Currently, the update is being rolled out in Malaysia, but we can expect it in other markets including India very soon.

Nokia Normandy to be launched in March under the Asha lineup

Our friends at 'Thinkdigit' reported that Senior Executive at Nokia India has confirmed that the mysterious Nokia Android handset will be launched in March under the Asha lineup. There is no information regarding the exact date though. Earlier it was reported by The Verge's Tom Warren, the Finnish handset giant has been working on its first Android phone, codenamed Normandy.

Sundar Pichai joins Satya Nadella to be next Microsoft CEO!

If Bloomberg reports are to be believed the Redmond giant is said to appoint Indian origin Sundar Pichai as its new CEO.
In a post on January 31, John Furrier, founder of the blog SiliconAngle.com also said that his media company had "confirmed" that Pichai was the top choice, citing unnamed sources close to the hiring team.

Samsung Not Able To Stick To Its Price For Galaxy Gear For Indian Market

At the time of launch, the price was 22,000 and on 12th January 2014 there was reduction making the availability at Rs.19,075/- and now there is a further reduction of Rs.3785/-

India smartphone market share 2013: Samsung 32%, Micromax 21%



As per the latest Canalys report, India smartphone market share 2013 report does not have any surprise. Samsung has 31.91 percent smartphone share, Micromax 21.13 percent, Karbonn 11.02 percent, Sony 6.35 percent, Nokia 4.23 percent and Apple 2.29 percent.

Even after huge spending on marketing and good range of smartphones global smartphone vendors such as LG,Apple and Lenovo do not find a place in the top 6 list.
