India smartphone market share 2013: Samsung 32%, Micromax 21%

As per the latest Canalys report, India smartphone market share 2013 report does not have any surprise. Samsung has 31.91 percent smartphone share, Micromax 21.13 percent, Karbonn 11.02 percent, Sony 6.35 percent, Nokia 4.23 percent and Apple 2.29 percent.

Even after huge spending on marketing and good range of smartphones global smartphone vendors such as LG,Apple and Lenovo do not find a place in the top 6 list.

If Canalys reports are to be believed the Indian smartphone market in 2013 has reached to an all time high figure of 11,350,530 units. At times when the worldwide smartphone market is slowing down, the strength shown by Indian market is tremendous.Samsung has yet again shown its dominance in Indian market by outselling other competitors .Despite enormous strength shown by the India's homegrown Micromax in the initial quarters it could not manage to topple mobile industry giant 'Samsung' from the top position. And even Nokia with its huge hit Lumia series could not manage to take on the home grown Micromax and Karbonn and is extremely struggling in the market.

The other home grown vendors such as lava and Karbonn also have generated good no of figures in 2013.In 2014 it is hoped that there would be a close fight between Samsung and Micromax for the no 1 position. It would be interesting to see that Motorola's re-entry in the market could manage to create some ripples.Despite of world wide smartphone market growth showing sluggish growth Indian smartphone market is expected to show some good results.
